Erik ten Hag finally breaks his silence on his future amid Man United takeover news – Man United News And Transfer News

79

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reiterated that he wants to stay at Old Trafford to see through the project, even as the club’s takeover goes ahead.

United is currently embroiled in a hotly contested takeover pitting Sir Jim Ratcliffe against Qatari investors led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Both parties have released statements outlining their plans and intentions for the Red Devils.

The Manchester United Supporters Trust recently released a statement outlining the requirements of any potential owner before taking over the club.

One of MUST’s conditions included full and unequivocal endorsement of Erik ten Hag.

This is an irreducible minimum that most United fans will agree must be met. Ten Hag enjoys blinding support from the fan base, and only a few followers will graciously accept his authority being usurped.

Ten Hag was questioned about what the future probably holds for him and smartly refused to reveal too much.

The United manager said: “I appreciate the fans when they have their trust in me.”

“I feel committed to this club, I love being here, but [the takeover] It’s not under my influence.

“What I can influence is the performance of this team, and I will give everything to perform at my best and hopefully push them through the limits.”

Any bidder trying to succeed in his endeavors should recognize the value of the Dutchman.

The progress he has made is evident to everyone, both on and off the pitch.
