Erik ten Hag says the club is keeping him informed of developments regarding the sale of Manchester United.

“From the beginning, yes. They informed me how the process will go. I focus on football, they are focusing on other parts, club departments, how to finance everything, ”he said at the press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Leicester City.

“We are following it, it is our club and of course we are committed, but we are focused on football, on training, on our way of playing, on matches.

“We are enjoying our union at the moment. It’s really nice to work and we’re focusing on games and we’re in four competitions.

“Others at the club will have to make decisions and struggle in the process. [of the takeover] but it does not depend on us”.

The manager was also asked if he thinks United can win the Premier League title.

“We didn’t think about that until now,” he replied.

“What we have to do is put ourselves, in April, in the right position, so that our thoughts can only be on the next game. We always have to be better than the previous game and think about it game by game, that’s our focus.

“We have to add the three points against Leicester. That demands a lot of energy and demands high standards.

With games becoming more intense and United still competing on four fronts, Ten Hag was asked if he thought his team could cope with the schedule and recover for the game against Leicester.

“It’s about whether we do things right and we’re ready and we’ve been at this pace for many weeks. So our players are doing very well in their sleep, in their recovery, in their nutrition and they will be ready for Sunday. Definitely,” he said.

“The players on our squad like it. They like to play in big games and they know that, as a team and as an individual, you grow from those games.

When asked about qualifying for the Champions League next season, Ten Hag said there were two ways the club could qualify.

“We are going in the right direction, but we have to fight for it. There are two ways. One is to win the Europa League and the other is the Premier League. We know what to do and we have to see it game by game. You have to fight to return to the Champions League, ”he said.
