Edinson Cavani expected to miss crucial Valenica matches – Man United News And Transfer News

Former Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani will be out of action for a month, according to reports in Spain.

Cavani, 36, signed for Valencia at the end of August after his contract at Old Trafford expired at the end of last season.

The Uruguayan striker played 90 minutes just three times last season for United, often self-certifying outside of matchday squads.

Since his arrival at Mestalla, Cavani has scored five goals in 14 league games.

He has only been ruled out for two league games this season due to injury (ankle).

Against Athletic Bilbao, however, Cavani was substituted after 16 minutes after suffering a muscle injury.

AS have now reported that this is expected to keep them on the sidelines for an extended period of time at a crucial part of the season.

Julián Burgos informs that Valencia expects Cavani to be out for at least a month.

Medical tests are scheduled to confirm the extent of his injury.

This is a heavy blow for Valencia, which finds itself in the relegation zone of La Liga in 18th place.

Next week, Los Che will play relegation-battling Getafe, who sit one point below them in the table.

This decisive match is followed by tough fights against the great midfielders Real Sociedad and Barcelona.
