Ian Rush fully behind Klopp as Liverpool seek to get season back on track

Ian Rush has urged Liverpool’s ‘true supporters’ to back the Reds despite their inconsistent performances so far this campaign.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are already out of both the FA and the League Cup and their performances in the Premier League haven’t been much better.

Despite now having less than half the campaign to play, the Anfield side are tenth in the table and 11 points behind Newcastle United, who currently sit fourth.

“With Jurgen, I believe in him, everyone believes in him,” Rush told Sky Sports (via the Evening Standard).

“With everyone in shape, we have a great squad. Unfortunately we have had some injuries, but you have to get over that.

“It’s great when you go through the good times, everyone loves that. We almost did the quadruple.

“True fans support the team when it’s not doing well. Try to give players the confidence to go up and start winning games.”

Our German tactician has ensured that the glory days are back for the red half of Merseyside.

He has guided the club to every major trophies possible since taking over from Brendan Rodgers in 2015 and he still has much more to give as Reds boss.

Last year the 55-year-old signed a new contract at the club that will see him stay at Anfield until the summer of 2026 and we certainly think that gives Normal One enough time to win all the trophies. that, reds?
