West Ham game a must win if Chelsea want UCL – Talk Chelsea

I think most Chelsea fans have accepted that we will not finish in the top four now this season. But there is still a slight belief there by some.

However, for Chelsea to do it, they simply have to beat West Ham on Saturday, because these are the games they simply have to win.

Chelsea would have had an eight-day break when we take on West Ham on Saturday, after drawing with Fulham last Friday.

We all thought that the little break we had last time would have a positive impact, but it didn’t make much of a difference. It gives an opportunity for returning injured players to get fitter and new signings to train more and learn more what Graham Potter wants from them. So there are certainly positives to that.

Chelsea make the short trip to West Ham on Saturday for the Premier League lunchtime kick-off, and it’s another great opportunity to restart our season and climb back up the league table.

West Ham are in a relegation battle at the moment, and on paper Chelsea are superior. But like I said before Fulham, if we want to have any chance of climbing back up the league and getting into the top six or top four then we just HAVE to win games like Fulham and games like this. There are no two ways to do it. We can’t keep losing points here.

West Ham have also done slightly better in their last two games. They got a draw against Newcastle, and before that, they beat Everton. Therefore, their confidence levels are certainly far from rock bottom.

Chelsea have a new team and are trying to cement and build on that relationship, as well as getting returning injured players back to fitness.

As for the result, I am still relatively sure that we can get all three points. Chelsea restored my confidence last weekend, but I remain hopeful that with new signings and returning injured players coming back to fitness and having another few weeks of training with them, we can do something here. But my main confidence comes from the fact that Felix is back. A player who really takes shots and can make things happen.

Chelsea still have a slim chance of making the top four at this point, but no win on Saturday drastically reduces it.
