MLS Season Pass: Ask me anything

For this week’s mailbox, we’re doing something a little different. Many soccer fans in the US will no doubt have questions about the MLS Season Pass for next season, and now is your chance to ask them. The new dedicated streaming service for MLS is part of a 10-year deal with Apple TV.

Whether it’s start times, cost, devices you can stream from, or anything else, send us your questions in the comments below and we’ll answer them all in an upcoming video. In the video, we will read your name on the air.

The landmark agreement with Apple will make all regular season games, MLS Cup playoffs and League Cup games available to subscribers, no matter where they are. That means no more annoying blackouts. There will be additional team content, MLS NEXT Pro and MLS NEXT games, and other bells and whistles as well.

MLS Season Pass is a dramatic break from the traditional television deals the league has had in the past. While some games will still be on traditional TV, the vast majority will only be broadcast. No more regional sports networks or local TV deals. It will be interesting to see if other sports leagues in the US take a similar route in the future.

MLS’s new season pass deal comes at a time of changing competition for MLS as well. The expanded Leagues Cup is now a legitimate multinational tournament, with every team in MLS and Liga MX up for Champions League spots. This season also sees additional changes to the Champions League qualification, as the competitions have been renewed for 2024.
