United have Wout Weghorst on loan as the club’s only recognized striker and Anthony Martial’s injury woes show no sign of abating.

Many prominent names have been linked with a move to Old Trafford, including Tottenham Hotspur record scorer Harry Kane, Serie A top scorer Victor Osimhen, Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic and bright young star from Barcelona, Ansu Fati.
But he reportedly looks like a direct choice between the England captain and the Napoli superstar.
However, as is the case with the Red Devils under the Glazers, the club has often had to make do with backup options and some names have been kept ready this time around as well.
One of the more interesting names to have emerged from that list is Roma leader Tammy Abraham.
Abraham has a point to prove in England
The English striker was one of José Mourinho’s success stories last season as he won the first-ever Europa Conference League with Abraham scoring 27 times in 53 games in all competitions.
It hasn’t been quite as prolific a season for the former Chelsea star, but things seem to be finally on track, as can be seen from his involvement in five goals in the last five games.
“Former Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, now with Roma, is believed to have been mooted as one of several alternative options,” a Telegraph report said.
After not getting the opportunities he deserved at his childhood club, Abraham has the idea of going back home and proving his critics wrong. United could be the club that gives him his return ticket.
