Salernitana 0-3 Juventus: Vlahovic reconciles with the net, but Miretti’s injury plagues the mood

After failing to record a win in their last three Serie A outings, Juventus ended their losing streak with an impressive outing in Salerno. Max Allegri’s men return home with three points and three unanswered goals.

The coach kept his 3-5-1-1 formation, with Ángel Di María supporting Dusan Vlahovic up front. Filip Kostic and Mattia De Sciglio played full-backs, while Adrien Rabiot and Fabio Miretti joined Manuel Locatelli in midfield.

The Bianconeri took the lead from the outset, eventually earning a penalty kick when Di Maria caught Miretti’s run. The youngsters fell to the ground after a challenge from Juventus midfielder Hans Nicolussi Caviglia.

Vlahovic converted brilliantly from the penalty spot, past Guillermo Ochoa who guessed the direction of the ball.

The attacker was the great protagonist of the evening, and even his missed shot was deflected by his compatriot Kostic, who made it 2-0 shortly before the break.

In the second half, substitute Nicolo Fagioli delivered a beautiful assist for Vlahovic, who completed his personal double.

Although Di María and Kean came close to scoring additional goals, they were denied them by the woodwork and the post, respectively.

In the end, Juventus deservedly won 3-0, but the afternoon was marred by injury to Miretti. The 19-year-old was lying in pain after sustaining a blow to his ankle, so we can only hope he isn’t as serious as currently feared.
