Crouch argues with wife after claiming CL final was better than birth of kids

Peter Crouch was a key part of the Liverpool team that reached the Champions League final in Athens in 2007 and, despite losing and not starting, clearly ranks as one of the proudest moments of his life.

Speaking on ‘The Therapy Crouch’ podcast, our former striker responded to his wife Abbey Clancy’s criticism that he made the statement and that he was only a substitute for the game:

“I was the top scorer for Liverpool going into that final, at the level of Kaká. If I had played in the final, we could have won it and I could have become the top scorer. Kaká would not have existed!

Clearly, it was all said as a joke by the 42-year-old and led to a hilarious argument between the pair, but it’s safe to say that the striker will only be supported by so many of our fans who would agree with him.

It might not be something you say in front of your lady, but we can all understand where it came from, right?
