RB Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku is expected to join Chelsea in the summer. Despite not having any official confirmation from either club yet, all major sources have stated that he will be a Chelsea player this summer. Is it perhaps the worst kept secret in football?

We’ve seen a few quotes from Chelsea’s outstanding new striker today, and it’s about his preferred position, which Blues fans will find very interesting.
Christopher Nkunku said:
“I think (attacking midfield) is a position that suits me well. Near the goal behind a striker. That describes me very well as a player, so I always like to play this role.”
So there you have it, he wants to play as an attacking midfielder, not a striker.
So this once again leads me to a troubling conclusion, that we’re still missing a true number nine.
Our attacking midfield and our wide options for next season are going to be immense, especially if we keep Joao Félix. But how the hell we’re going to get everyone in is beyond me. What a big problem for Graham Potter!
Nkunku will be a real threat at back, but again, like Kai Havertz and Felix, he needs to be alongside a more traditional number nine. However, I am sure that the club knows it and is planning it.
Go find Ivan Toney from Brentford (depending on the betting ban), I think he would be a good choice and won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
Although I am also interested to see how David Datro Fofana fares for the rest of this season, sources have now confirmed that he will stay with us. Give her a chance to shine, Graham!
Either way, we’re still seeing few quality-proven No. 9 options right now, and it’s sure to be an area we need to look into come summer.
