Former Bayern Munich youth star Taylor Booth generating interest from Manchester United – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s season has been hampered by the lack of a suitable goalscorer following the departure of last season’s top scorer and injuries to several midfielders.

Despite these blatant mistakes, United have done quite well and are currently fighting on all four fronts with a Carabao Cup final coming in February.

Erik ten Hag knows the importance of remedying this next summer after only the loan market was available to use in the winter.

Midfielder needed for next season

The search for midfield is currently dominated by names like Frenkie de Jong and Jude Bellingham. But a new star could have appeared on the horizon.

The Daily Mail has revealed that Ten Hag is “actively supervising” current FC Utrecht midfielder Taylor Booth. The 21-year-old joined the Dutch side this season from Bayern Munich.

He was highly respected at the Bundesliga giants and had trained several times with the likes of Robert Lewandowski and was even offered a contract extension.

But feeling that his chances of breaking into the starting eleven would be difficult due to the options available to the Bavarian giants, he declined, much to Bayern’s chagrin.

Despite his young age, he was already named Eredivisie player of the month for November and has also been named in the Eredivisie Team of the Week multiple times.

Taylor Booth could be the unlikely solution

Ten Hag, who was a player and manager at Utrecht, is well informed about the 21-year-old who has scored twice and assisted three more in just 12 starts.

“Ten Hag still has strong ties to the club, so he is well informed of Booth’s capabilities and is believed to be actively monitoring his progress with the impressive 21-year-old so far,” the report read.

Burnley and a couple of Portuguese clubs have tried before and have joined many of the top clubs in Serie A and La Liga along with United.

He is only valued at €1.50m according to Transfermarkt and the United manager is definitely trying to bring down the overall age of his team and needs a young and energetic presence.

Booth is also versatile and has the ability to play in midfield and on the wings if necessary, an advantage that the Dutch coach highly values.
