Thomas Muller admits surprise on Marcel Sabitzer’s move to Manchester United – Man United News And Transfer News

Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller has spoken about Marcel Sabitzer’s loan to Manchester United.

As reported in the Daily Mail, Muller admits that he and his teammates were surprised by the move.

“The team was surprised. It happened very fast,’ he told German news outlet Kicker.

Muller went on to say that he was happy for his team-mate, who will play at Old Trafford for the remainder of the campaign.

“I am happy for Sabi who is moving to Manchester United, he has the opportunity to play there. Manchester is a great name. he said.

However, Muller does not expect Sabitzer to stay in Manchester beyond the current deal, saying he feels there is unfinished business in Munich for the midfielder.

He will be back in the summer. The chapter isn’t over yet.” he said.

United moved quickly to secure the signing of Sabitzer on deadline day, after confirming that Christian Eriksen will miss much of the remainder of the season through injury.

Eriksen joins Donny van de Beek on the treatment table for the long term, with Scott McTominay also expected to miss the next ‘few weeks’.

Erik ten Hag was facing a hectic schedule with limited options in the middle of the park, but the addition of Sabitzer has bolstered the numbers.

Sabitzer will bring energy and quality to United’s midfield and may lead to a permanent move for the 28-year-old, Muller’s beliefs notwithstanding.

Ten Hag has confirmed that the Austrian international will be in the squad for Saturday’s visit to Crystal Palace, in the Premier League.
