All the figures and conditions behind McKennie’s imminent Leeds transfer

At the moment, the transfer of Weston McKennie to Leeds United is no longer a hidden secret. After all, Fabrizio Romano himself put his famous “Here We Go” stamp on it on Saturday.

The American has already agreed terms with the English outfit, and the two clubs were finally able to come up with a formula for the impending transfer. The 24-year-old will arrive on loan to the Whites until the end of the season, with an obligation to purchase under certain conditions.

La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Marco Guidi reveals all the figures and conditions behind the upcoming official transfer.

According to the source, the bianconeri’s initial sale price was 35 million euros, while Leeds only offered 28 million. Finally, the two parties reached an agreement of 1.2 million for loan installments plus 33 million (including bonuses) for the final assignment.

The agreement will also include two conditions to activate the purchase clause. Firstly Leeds must avoid relegation and secondly McKennie must make 10 appearances between now and the end of the season.

As for salaries, the midfielder currently earns 3.2 million euros per season at Juventus, but should rake in more than 4 million on English shores.

The report adds that the presence of his international teammates Brenden Aaronson and Tyler Adams convinced the USMNT star to join the Premier League club (partly owned by US investors).
