Manchester United considering permanent Wout Weghorst transfer stance – Man United News And Transfer News

Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol says Manchester United are already considering a permanent deal for Wout Weghorst.

The towering center forward is currently on loan from Burnley, having interrupted his spell with Besiktas to play at Old Trafford.

And the Red Devils are said to be already very impressed with Weghorst after only a couple of weeks at the club.

“I’ve been told that Manchester United are delighted with the way Wout Weghorst has adapted,” Solhekol told the Sky Sports transfer programme.

“A lot of people were surprised when they made a move for him, but Erik ten Hag felt a player of Weghorst’s profile was needed at the club.

“We all know that he signed on loan until the summer, and the feeling that what the player himself said yesterday gives me is that he wants to stay as long as possible and for the moment he is doing everything well.

“United are delighted with what he is doing both on and off the pitch and I have been told that he is a professional model. Despite the fact that they are looking to sign a number 9 in the summer, it is possible that he will stay in any case.”

The Peoples Person went into detail about Weghorst’s professionalism and work ethic ahead of his move to the club, and it looks like those expectations are proving strong.

His attitude and intensity are evident on the pitch, with the former Wolfsburg forward pressing relentlessly in all three games he has played so far.

Hopefully the goal against Nottingham Forest will be the first of many, with Weghorst showing a poacher’s instinct to react quicker to the rebound.

If he continues his positive energy on and off the pitch, there’s no reason United wouldn’t be interested in keeping him at Old Trafford.

Weghorst is certainly waiting for an offer to come through, although he is well aware that he has work to do to win it over.

However, it may end up being an interesting case of cheat twenty-two regarding a permanent deal.

As The Peoples Person reported, United did not inherit the 10m buy option that was on hand for Besiktas when it took over Weghorst’s loan deal.

That could end up making it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him should he exceed expectations during his temporary contract.

The better you play; more money Burnley will want.
