Manchester United totally dominate the official Carabao Cup XI of the first leg – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United were predominantly represented in the Carabao Cup official squad for the first leg.

United overcame Nottingham Forest last night to put themselves firmly in control ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford.

United got their goals through Marcus Rashford, Wout Weghorst and Bruno Fernandes.

Rashford opened the scoring after a brilliant run that also saw him grapple with two defenders before firing the ball into the back of the net with his left foot.

Weghorst finished off a deflected shot from the Forest keeper to double United’s lead just before half-time.

A late-game goal from Bruno Fernandes sealed the deal for the Red Devils on what was a perfect night at the City Ground.

In the Carabao Cup team’s Official XI for the first leg, United were represented by nine players.

Only two players, each from Southampton and Newcastle, were not United stars.

David de Gea made the list, as did his back four, consisting of man of the match Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bisaka and Tyrell Malacia.

Christian Eriksen was the only member of the United trio not to make the official XI, with Southampton’s Ibrahima Diallo being the favorite along with Fernandes and Casemiro.

Unsurprisingly, Rashford and Weghorst made up the attack which also consisted of Newcastle’s Joelinton. Like Eriksen, Antony also got lost.

With United all but certain to be at Wembley for the final, they will find out who will stand in their way when the Magpies host Southampton at St James’ Park.

Newcastle are currently a goal ahead in the tie, but certainly not an impossible task for The Saints to bounce back.
