Manchester United make January transfer u-turn as new plan to sign a forward emerges – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are still active in the January transfer window.

After Wout Weghirst’s arrival at Old Trafford, United were expected to have wrapped up business during the winter window.

Shortages of funds and a shortage of cash amid rampant debt and an impending acquisition have meant that Erik ten Hag needs more to spend on additions.

However, the United coach did not hide his desire to strengthen the squad and assured that the club will be attentive to any opportunity that arises.

According to The Mail, United privately sticks to its stance that they are made in the market. However, they are firmly on the hunt for an attack-minded takeover.

The Mail reports: “Manchester United are still looking to add another striker on loan, despite Wout Weghorst already on loan from Championship side Burnley during the January transfer window.”

“There is no confirmed interest and the club maintain their stance of not doing any more business, although Sportsmail believe they are still looking.”

“A deal will only be viable if it is a loan with a small fee.”

Time is running out for the club bosses to bring in an extra corps to help bolster Ten Hag’s team.

There is less than a week left until the transfer window closes.

The Red Devils have been linked to various names at the forward position. Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko are said to be high on the coach’s wish list.

A deal for either option is unlikely in the remaining days. All would require significant transfer fees and weeks of negotiation to reach an agreement on the line.
