Jones provides update on Liverpool’s reported interest in Moises Caicedo

Liverpool fans will be very aware of the perceived long-term interest in Moisés Caicedo, but with less than a week left in the transfer window, it is increasingly unlikely that he will become our player.

Speaking to Redmen TV, Neil Jones provided the following update: “I don’t think Brighton is selling out this month, I’ve been saying that for a few weeks… if you were a Brighton fan you’d say ‘why would you do that?’ because its value is not going to go down.

There have been reports of an offer of around £55m put forward by Chelsea and subsequently rejected, meaning that if we are to then secure the signature of the Ecuadorian international, it will take a lot more than that.

Now that the Gulls also have such a short time to replace the 21-year-old, it seems more likely that it’ll be a deal for the summer, if ever given the price increase.
