Manchester United set to be without two key players for Arsenal clash – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United already took a huge blow to their title aspirations during the midweek clash against Crystal Palace, as they were forced to a disappointing 1-1 draw.

An even bigger blow was the loss of general midfielder Casemiro, who saw his fifth yellow card of the season and was automatically suspended for a potential six points against Arsenal on Sunday.

The absence of the Brazilian has meant that Erik ten Hag has to modify his line-up to compensate for his loss and try to give an answer to the league leader.

Martial, Dalot to miss?

Even more bad news could await the Dutch coach with two key players missing from the traveling squad.

According to The Manchester Evening News, “Anthony Martial and Diogo Dalot will miss Manchester United’s trip to Arsenal on Sunday.

“The duo were not seen among the team members who traveled by train to London on Saturday afternoon.”

The French striker, who missed the Palace game, was expected to be available for the Gunners game but was not seen among the team who traveled by train to London on Saturday afternoon.

Dalot had to be withdrawn during the FA Cup tie against Charlton Athletic and missed both the Manchester derby and the trip to Selhurst Park.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has done well since joining the team and Dalot’s absence shouldn’t be felt as much.

Weghorst for another chance

But missing out on Martial could be a huge blow, as it means loan forward Wout Weghorst will play his second match in a row.

While the Dutch striker did reasonably well against the Eagles, he has yet to fully grasp Ten Hag’s style or catch up in the Premier League.

Just because they’re not pictured traveling doesn’t necessarily mean they haven’t traveled to London, so fans are hoping to see the duo warming up in the Emirates on Sunday.

For his part, Jadon Sancho has not made the trip to London either. He returned to first-team training this week but is still some way from returning to competitive action.
