Sir Alex Ferguson sends Jurgen Klopp classy message ahead of landmark

Saturday will see Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp manage his 1,000th match in football when the Reds take on Chelsea at Anfield in the early kick-off.

The German coach is likely not thinking about his career milestone heading into the game, as his team desperately need three points if they are to somehow finish in the top four this season.

However, speaking on behalf of the League Managers Association, Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Klopp’s success during his 22-year career and sent a lovely message to the German manager.

“I am delighted to welcome Jurgen Klopp to the LMA 1000 club,” the former Man United manager said via the Liverpool Echo.

“Jurgen is without a doubt one of the most talented managers in world football and the dedication and passion that Jurgen brings to the role inspires anyone aspiring to a career in football management.

“The numerous trophies he has already won in his career, including in recent seasons the Champions League and the Premier League with Liverpool, confirm his status among football’s elite.”
