BBL Venue: Optus Stadium has two huge video screens, LED lighting, and a dome with 85% of its seats fixed below the drip line. It was also the first venue in Australia to provide Field Clubs and Suites, which are positioned next to the playing field and give spectators 360-degree access to the pitch.
In order to provide fans with a variety of transportation alternatives, the stadium was designed with rail, bus, and pedestrian solutions. Fans can reach the stadium quickly and easily from Perth Stadium train station.
The West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers, two AFL clubs from Western Australia, as well as the Perth Scorchers of the BBL, call this place home.
It also hosts major events such as the A-League Grand Final, Perth Glory games against foreign clubs, the Bledisloe Cup and the State of Origin series, as well as hosting Perth’s international cricket matches.
BBL Venue: The 2021 AFL Grand Final between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs had the highest attendance in the AFL at 61,118. The record audience for the Optus Venue was 61,241 for the 2019 Bledisloe Cup match between the Wallabies and the All Blacks, where more chairs were used on three sides of the professional circuit.
Prior to its debut, the telecommunications corporation Optus acquired the naming rights, renaming the space Optus Stadium for at least the next 10 years. Perth Stadium remains the stadium’s non-commercial nickname for international cricket matches.
