How much effort did Juventus put into landing Joao Felix?

In July 2019, Joao Félix made a massive £100m-plus move to Atlético Madrid, a move that hasn’t been a huge success for the 23-year-old despite being hailed as one of the most exciting young players in Europe at his previous club, Benfica.

The striker had fallen out with his current coach, Diego Simeone, and a parting of ways was always going to happen sooner rather than later.

Juventus had been in discussions with their agent Jorge Mendes, but after weighing all their options, Juventus decided they could not continue, allowing Chelsea to spring into action.

Mendes have worked diligently to secure a transfer for Felix in this transfer window and have been in talks with a number of Europe’s top clubs and it appears the two-time European champions have managed to lure the Portuguese to west London.

Chelsea are set to secure the signing of Felix on a six-month loan deal at a cost said to be around £20m and that is the main reason Juve decided not to retain his services, as reported by Football- Italy.

Felix is undoubtedly excited about his new challenge with the Blues and the deal is expected to be officially announced within the next 48 hours.
