Inter Miami manager Phil Neville reacts to Lionel Messi rumours

Inter Miami CF manager Phil Neville has admitted that any deal to bring Lionel Messi to the MLS team will be “complicated.”

Inter Miami has long been linked to a move by Lionel Messi, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, sometime before he hung up his boots.

The Argentine superstar currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he has a contract that runs until the end of June 2023. But there is an option to extend his contract with the club for another year, and Lionel Messi and PSG would have reached an agreement. Agreement in principle to renew his contract with the Ligue 1 team until 2024.

Even if Lionel Messi extends his stay at Paris Saint-Germain until 2024, Inter Miami is expected to remain interested in the Argentine’s services when he becomes available.

Lionel Messi scored seven goals for Argentina at Qatar 2022, including a brace in the final against France, as the South American nation lifted the FIFA World Cup title for the third time in its history.

For his performances for Argentina in Qatar 2022, Lionel Messi also won the Ballon d’Or award.
