The draw against Wolves did little to ease Liverpool’s concerns about a poor showing against Brentford and there have been plenty of critics of our recent performances, including former Red Steve McManaman.
Speaking on ESPN, the 50-year-old said: “Liverpool, as a performance, they just aren’t playing very well, are they? They were very open, they seem very lethargic and they are letting the opposition have numerous tries every time they are counterattacked.”

Since returning to World Cup action, Jurgen Klopp’s side have stuttered in a way many feared we might after what was a poor start to the campaign.
We desperately need improved form and fortune if we’re going to try to have a successful end to the season, but recent performances don’t suggest that’s happening anytime soon.
