One of the top running backs on the NCAA transfer portal committed to USC on Friday. Former RB Marshawn Lloyd of the South Carolina Gamecocks is working his way from one USC to another. He will be a Trojan to start the next season. Lloyd is the number one runner on the portal according to the 247Sports ranking.

Lloyd is a redshirt sophomore from Hyattsville, Maryland, where he was a four-star recruit. In his last two years with the Gamecocks, Lloyd has appeared in 20 games, rushing for 801 yards and ten touchdowns. He has added two other passing touchdowns.
Lloyd will join what appears to be a stacked running back at Southern Cal next year. USC has three four-star prospects out of high school in the position, minus the talent already in the program.
Lloyd could help USC fill the production that outgoing senior Travis Dye will lose. Austin Jones, who became the starter at the end of the season, has not announced if he will return for another year at this time.
Riley’s target transfer portal to reinforce the list
USC head coach Lincoln Riley has become one of the most active coaches on the NCAA transfer portal over the past two seasons. After taking over in 2022, Riley added quarterback Caleb Williams and star receivers Jordan Addison and Mario Williams.
This season, Riley again has a top ten transfer portal class with eight commitments. Marshawn Lloyd appears to be one of the best players in the class and Riley has bagged him along with Arizona wide receiver Dorian Singer and Oklahoma State linebacker Mason Cobb.
