Lazio president denies contacting Juventus for Milinkovic-Savic

For years, Juve’s obsession with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic had been one of the worst hidden secrets in Italian football. But today, the parties no longer try to deny the old woman’s interest in the Serb.

The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Serie A, if not the absolute best. This season he has already contributed three goals and seven assists in his 14 league outings.

Yet Lazio president Claudio Lotito still stubbornly clings to this most prized asset, even as the player’s contract expires in 2024.

In a recent interview, the Biancoceleste boss affirms that Milinkovic-Savic is not for sale, while denying that he has contacted Juventus to include him in a transfer.

“I want to talk to Sergej, look him in the eye and really understand what he wants to do in the future and how much he loves Lazio,” Lotito declared in an interview with Il Messaggero via TuttoJuve.

“For me he is an absolute champion. He is not for sale and I have not called Juve to include him in any negotiations on the transfer market.”

The Serbian international joined Lazio in 2015 and formed a lethal partnership with Ciro Immobile. The capital winger desperately tries to renew his contract to drive away all the suitors, while Juventus remains in the window.
