Conte unveils what was said at halftime after Tottenham’s poor first half

Tottenham Hotspur produced an impressive display in the second half of their clash with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night to crush the Eagels 4-0 at Selhurst Park.

Spurs entered the game in poor form after losing 2-0 to Aston Villa last Sunday, but they grabbed all three points to end their run and stay in touch with the top four in the Premier League.

Antonio Conte’s side started the game well but drifted off track as the first half progressed and would have worried Tottenham fans after recent results.

However, Spurs scored four goals in the second half and after the game, Conte revealed what he said at halftime.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, Conte spoke about Spurs’ display in the first half, saying he told his team to keep playing the ball for the second 45 seconds.

The Italian told the Evening Standard: “The message was to keep playing, because we started the game very well.

“In the second part of the first half we lost possession a bit. I told the team that it was very, very important to keep playing the ball, to move the ball from one side to the other and to find spaces to attack.

“It was good, we played a good game. I’m happy because our forwards scored: Harry scored twice, Sonny finally scored. It was very important for him, because we are talking about a player who needs to have confidence in himself”.
