Juventus midfielder Nicolussi Caviglia set to join Salernitana on a dry loan

After rising through the ranks at Juventus, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia is finally ready for his first experience in Serie A.

The 22-year-old joined the Bianconeri’s academy at a young age and has featured in virtually every age category, with the final step being the Next Gen squad.

This season, the midfielder began his campaign at Serie B side Sudtirol. But it appears his performances were impressive enough to earn him a mid-season move to the top flight.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (via TuttoJuve), Nicolussi Caviglia will cut his Serie B experience short to join Salernitana on a dry loan until the end of the season.

The southerners have been one of the most impressive clubs in Italy’s top flight since the arrival of Davide Nicola midway through the previous campaign. The quarterback oversaw an inspiring escape from relegation, and the club currently sit in the middle of the table.

Juve FC says

Unfortunately for Nicolussi Caviglia, his rise coincided with that of several other youngsters at Juventus, including Fabio Miretti, Nicolò Fagioli, Nicolò Rovella and Filippo Ranocchia.

So the 22-year-old is unlikely to carve out a place for himself in Max Allegri’s midfield anytime soon. However, he has a contract with the club until 2026, and the formula for his transfer to Salernitana (dry transfer) suggests that the board has no intention of parting ways with him before seeing how he manages at the highest level.
