Juventus must avoid becoming a selling club –

Juventus have traditionally been one of the biggest clubs in the world, however times are changing and there is a real danger that the club will lose that reputation.

It all comes down to money and promotion from the Premier League and the fight to stay competitive.

It also didn’t help that there was a pandemic that forced them to play behind closed doors, but while Juve struggle to balance the books, Premier League teams spend like crazy and pay salaries the Bianconeri simply can’t compete with.

Add in all the financial scandals engulfing the club and you have the perfect storm for an entity that could quickly become a selling club just to keep its head above water.

This is all pretty depressing for many Juve fans, although at least they can visit an online casino and escape the dark clouds descending on Turin and have some fun.

Rumors abound that the club may sell Dusan Vlahovic, a player Juve were to build a team around and, if that’s not enough, almost all of the players linked with a move to Allianz Stadium are emerging talents or free agents. .

We no longer see the best players in the world linked to Juve, those days are over, at least for now.

The World Cup in Qatar has just wrapped up and usually stars of the competition not associated with an elite club are promoted to move to bigger clubs, such as Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, Ajax’s Mohammed Kudus and PSV’s Cody Gakpo are just three examples.

It is quite remarkable that Juventus are rarely named as a club ready to spend big money on such players and when they are, it depends on Juve selling first.

The brutal truth is that Juventus can no longer afford the best in the world and there is a better chance that they will have to sell their best stars instead.

You can change?

Probably not in the short term simply because it’s TV money that drives the Premier League, not sponsorship money or ticket sales, and Serie A isn’t as valuable as the Premier League and as long as it remains that way Juve will continue to struggle and have little choice but to sell their most valuable assets if English clubs come calling.

Juve can’t turn down an offer of €100m for Vlahovic or €70m for Federico Chiesa or whatever his valuation is and that kind of figure is easily affordable for a good eight Premier League teams.

If Man City or Chelsea or even Newcastle United come up with that kind of money, it’s very likely that the Juve board will agree, if they want to comply with financial fair play.

It hasn’t happened yet, but if Juventus sell players like Vlahovic or Chiesa then they will have become a selling club whether we like it or not.
