‘Now in direct talks…’ – Fabrizio Romano drops interesting transfer update for Liverpool fans as Enzo Fernandez claim made

Enzo Fernández seems destined for the Premier League if the latest batch of reports is to be believed.

Now that trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano is weighing in on the matter on Twitter, it looks like Liverpool could miss out on the World Cup winner with Chelsea firmly in the lead for his signing before the January window opens.

Whether Benfica will be tempted by the Blues’ ‘huge fee’ rather than the €120m release clause attached to their star midfielder remains to be seen.

For our part, we knew that getting both Jude Bellingham and Fernandez out would have been quite the feat, even for our star-studded recruiting team.

The possibility is not over yet, though there is no doubt that Romano’s involvement in the story deals a blow to our hopes of landing a dream duo of midfield additions in the next two transfer windows.

That’s not to belittle the potential individual signing of the 19-year-old sensation from Borussia Dortmund in any way, shape, or form, of course, given the Englishman’s brilliance in midfield.
