Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that Jack Grealish has to score more goals for the club.

Manchester City faced Leeds United in an away game in their first Premier League game after the winter break, with the defending champions taking all three points of the match.

A goal on the brink of halftime from Rodri and a second-half brace from Erling Haaland helped Manchester City beat Leeds United 3-1. But they would have won the game by a better margin if the likes of Jack Grealish hadn’t wasted in front of goal.

Speaking after the game, Pep Guardiola admitted that Jack Grealish has to score more goals for Manchester City and that he has to be more ambitious.

“Grealish made two assists, he allowed us to give an extra pass when he had it,” Guardiola told Amazon Prime.

“With Riyadh [Mahrez] and Jack the tempo was better, but it has to be more ambitious. He has to score more goals and be competitive because he has the quality to do it”.

Jack Grealish has only scored one goal for Manchester City in the current 22/23 season. The England international has appeared in 18 matches in all competitions for Manchester City in the 22/23 season.

The only goal he has scored this season came in Manchester City’s 3-0 win over Wolves in the Premier League in September. Since then, he hasn’t scored a goal for the defending Premier League champions.
