Mbappé brushes aside bizarre Martínez antics

Kylian Mbappé has finally publicly addressed the incidents related to Argentina’s World Cup celebrations. The winning goalkeeper, Emi Martínez, strangely focused on Mbappé after winning the tournament in Qatar.

Martínez observed a minute’s silence for the French star at the party after the Argentina game. The goalkeeper then carried a photo of Mbappé’s face attached during the team’s parade in Buenos Aires. This was after Mbappé scored a hat-trick and also converted his penalty against Martínez in the epic World Cup final.

Mbappé will not waste energy on ‘useless things’ like Martínez

The Paris Saint-Germain star spoke after his first game for his club after the tournament. “Celebrations are not my problem,” Mbappé told RMC Sport. “I don’t waste energy on such useless things. The important thing for me is to give my best for my club, and we will wait for Leo [Messi] come back to continue scoring and winning matches”.

Although Mbappé is already back in France, Messi will return to Paris in the first week of January. Martinez, on the other hand, is supposed to return to England on Thursday. Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has said that he will speak to his goalkeeper about the incidents.

There is no problem between Mbappé and Messi

Mbappé also dispelled the rumors that there was a break between him and Messi. The two superstars are teammates at PSG but met in the World Cup final. “Talk to [Messi] After the match. I congratulated him. It was his life’s search for him, for me too. But I missed, so you always have to be a good player.”

The French star rescued PSG with a late goal on Wednesday night. The struggling Strasbourg thought they had won an unlikely point in Paris, but Mbappé converted a penalty kick five minutes into added time.

The win extended PSG’s lead at the top of Ligue 1 to eight points. Second-placed Lens host the Parisians on New Year’s Day in a massive duel in the French league.
