Real Madrid eyeing free move for out-of-contract Alejandro Garnacho – Man United News And Transfer News

Since his exploits against Aston Villa in the EFL Cup and last-gasp goal against Fulham in the Premier League, Alejandro Garnacho’s stock has skyrocketed meteorically.

After some initial setbacks under Erik ten Hag where he was accused of having a bad mentality, the Argentinian bounced back and boy!

All of his United teammates have praised his effectiveness and despite his young age, he is now a valued member of the first team, having played in both games since the World Cup.

United wing options such as Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga have struggled to secure a starting job, and Garnacho has seized his chance with both hands and moved above the pair in the pecking order.

Garnacho, a star in the making

However, there remains uncertainty surrounding his future at the club due to the fact that his contract will expire in 2023 and foreign clubs will be able to reach a pre-contract agreement with the difficult winger from 1 January.

In a bid to avoid losing him for free like Paul Pogba, United are desperately trying to agree a long-term contract with the 18-year-old.

There have been reports that the Red Devils are even willing to offer him ten times his current salary in a bid to keep the last diamond in his academy.

However, until such time as the deal is officially signed and sealed, foreign clubs will continue to sniff out and try to acquire the former Atlético Madrid star.

According to Defensa Central (via Caughtoffside), “Real Madrid are ready to increase their interest in Manchester United striker Alejandro Garnacho.”

The report has added that a return to Madrid could interest the youngster, where he had spent part of his formative years.

However, doubts remain as to whether he will be able to break into the starting eleven and add as many minutes as he is currently receiving at the Red Devils.

The fans have taken a liking to him and the ideal would be for Garnacho not to disappoint them by leaving so soon. There is positive sentiment that United may agree to an extension soon.
