Kulusevski aims another dig at Juve after receiving an award

Dejan Kulusevski struggled when he was on the Juventus books, especially after Max Allegri became the club’s manager.

He then secured a move to Tottenham earlier this year and has seen himself revived in London as he shines under Antonio Conte.

Kulusevski is clearly talented, and why he struggled at Juve remains a mystery, but he seems to adapt to Conte’s style of play, revealing that his life, love and hunger were gone before he moved to Spurs.

He said via Football Italia after receiving the 2022 Swedish Footballer of the Year award:

“There have been many people who have helped me along the way and it has been hard work, but it is an honor to receive this award.

“The whole year has been absolutely fantastic, actually. I came to Tottenham to get my life, my hunger and my love back after they flew away.

“I feel like I’m getting better every day and I have a lot of fun when I play on the pitch,” says Kulusevski.

Juve FC says

Some players struggle at clubs that don’t play to their strengths, and that doesn’t mean Juve have a bad manager or that Kulusevski is a terrible player.

It was a mismatch and it’s good to see him thrive in London because he’s a very good player.
