Jurgen Klopp Lavishes Praise on ‘Greatest Footballer in My Lifetime’ Lionel Messi

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has lavished praise on Lionel Messi, calling the Argentine superstar the best footballer of his life.

Lionel Messi recently led Argentina to 2022 FIFA World Cup glory as the 35-year-old finally lifted the only trophy that had eluded him until then in his trophy-filled career. Lionel Messi was sensational for Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and won the Ballon d’Or for his performances in Qatar.

The Argentina captain scored seven goals for his nation at Qatar 2022, including a brace he netted in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final against the France national football team. He was also close to winning the Golden Boot in Qatar 2022 but it was Kylian Mbappé, with eight goals, who won the award.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup title win with Argentina has further strengthened Lionel Messi’s bid to be the greatest footballer of all time, with Jurgen Klopp calling the Argentine the best footballer of his life.

The Liverpool manager also praised Lionel Messi, whom he said was a pleasure to watch. “The best footballer of my life, Lionel Messi, the way he plays football at this age should give us a clue as to how long footballers can play at the highest level.
