Matt Doherty claims Harry Kane should not be taking the free-kicks for Spurs anymore

Matt Doherty spoke about the players he would select for his FPL squad in an interview with Fantasy Premier League.

He named two Tottenham Hotspur players he thought everyone should have in their team, as well as making an important claim about the effectiveness of Harry Kane’s free kicks.

The two players he selected for his dream team were Dejan Kulusevski and Harry Kane. He explained his selection by saying:

“I am going to go for Kulusevski, because he is very good at football. You can see when we don’t have it, how much we miss it. He just creates a lot, he crosses over to the box, he passes people. He is so dynamic that he makes a big difference in the team.

“Out of pure fantasy, every time he plays he seems to be into a goal, scoring a goal or making big plays.”

And when it came to selecting a striker, Doherty did not hesitate to choose his teammate Kane. However, he suggested that the Englishman should not take free kicks for the team and that Eric Dier should. He said:

“Just his complete game. He can pass the ball, he can set up goals, he scores tons of goals. He’s on penalties, he’s on free kicks, although maybe he shouldn’t be… maybe Eric Dier should be on them.”

That’s true. When it comes to shooting free kicks, Harry Kane isn’t the best choice for the Spurs, as his track record shows.

There are several better candidates for the role, including South Korean superstar Son Heung-min and Eric Dier, who was endorsed by Matt Doherty.
