Why Juventus youngsters might not be ready to win the league title

Juventus have been relying on youngsters to help give them match points in recent weeks, and it shows that the Bianconeri are no longer reliant on veterans alone.

On paper, it’s a good thing and gives them some much-needed press after years of being accused of neglecting their young players.

The Bianconeri have debuted a number of next-generation players and the likes of Fabio Miretti and Samuel Iling-Junior have been promoted to the senior team.

However, a team dominated by young players rarely wins trophies as we all know and have seen in different competitions around the world, which makes this path risky.

All clubs need a good mix of youth and experience to win titles, but Juve is set to be dominated by young, inexperienced players.

Unless the Bianconeri sign seasoned stars this summer and lose the likes of Alex Sandro, Juan Cuadrado, Angel di Maria and Adrien Rabiot, their squad will be packed with youngsters.

If that happens, the fans should lower their expectations because it could be some time before they win the league or any other trophy.

This is because young players will need time to develop and start competing for top honours, considering that most do not have the know-how to conquer difficult opponents in the critical stages of a competition.
