Manchester United Women heading to Malta after Christmas – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have announced that the women’s team will travel to Malta for a winter training camp.

The week-long camp will take place in January 2023 and will culminate in the Reds’ friendly match against Maltese First Division champions Birkirkara FC.

The club sees the trip “as an opportunity to further enhance the team spirit of the team ahead of a busy second half of the campaign, while enjoying the Maltese cultural experience.”

The match will take place at the Hibernians Stadium on January 6.

The club and Manchester United’s Official Destination Partner Visit Malta will be giving away complimentary match tickets.

Tickets will be issued randomly via ballot, with applicants notified by email.

Fans can participate in the ballot until December 30.

Speaking of the trip, Marc Skinner said: “We have a wonderful partnership with the club’s official destination partner, Visit Malta, and the opportunity to bring our girls together after the Christmas holidays at Malta’s first-class facilities, to set up goals ahead. a great second half of the season, it’s great for us.”

He continued: “The players can look forward to a lot of hard work on the pitch, while enjoying the world-renowned hospitality of the people of Malta, which is also home to one of our oldest official supporter clubs in the world.”

“A privilege of being at Manchester United is having fans all over the world and we can’t wait to spend some time with them and be reminded of what it’s like to play for this wonderful football club.”

Manchester United’s head of women’s football, Polly Bancroft, also commented on the opportunity, saying: “This winter training camp will be a great opportunity for us to build on the success we have already achieved so far this season, allowing us to train within a different climate and culture, while experiencing the warmth of our official Maltese supporters club.”

“Playing against local Birkirkara FC will allow our team to compete against a diverse opponent, far from their usual Carrington environment.”

United’s first competitive game after the break is January 15.
