FIFPRO, an association of professional footballers, has criticized José Mourinho, the coach of AS Roma, for his treatment of Rick Karsdorp.
They accused Mourinho of leading a “mobbing campaign” against Karsdorp, who was excluded from the squad after Mourinho accused him of having a “bad attitude” and “betraying his teammates”.
Mourinho has reportedly told Karsdorp to look for a transfer to a new club in the January transfer window.
Initially, Mourinho did not publicly name Karsdorp as the player he was criticizing, stating after a 1-1 draw against Sassuolo last month that a single player negatively impacted the team’s performance.
Mourinho’s statement
During a press conference after the 1-1 draw against Sassuolo, Mourinho expressed his frustration at a player’s performance and attitude, stating: “I am sorry that the attitude of an unprofessional player has betrayed the efforts of the team.
He betrayed everyone else. I didn’t talk about [Roger] Ibáñez against Lazio like this because the attitude was top. But the unprofessional and incorrect attitude that is not fair to his colleagues is what disappoints me ”.
The former Chelsea manager said he was pleased with the attitude of 15 of the 16 players on the pitch during the match.
Mourinho said he was unhappy with the attitude of a player, whom he did not name, and that this player had “betrayed everyone’s effort.” He said that this player needs to find a new club in January.

FIFPRO has issued a statement condemning AS Roma’s treatment of Rick Karsdorp, who they claim has been the target of a “mobbing campaign”.
The statement accuses the club of publicly labeling Karsdorp a “traitor”, without addressing or apologizing for this hurtful and baseless accusation, making him the subject of an unwarranted disciplinary case.
Additionally, the union claims that Karsdorp has faced confrontations and abuse from fans and his family due to these allegations.
FIFPRO alleges that the complaints and disciplinary measures against Karsdorp are being used to distract attention from the club’s poor performances and put unfair pressure on the player.
