Jurgen Klopp admitted that Liverpool are “probably looking” to sign in January, but explained that he will always work with what he currently has at his disposal.
The German tactician has not shy away from admitting his enthusiasm to sign a new midfielder and has reportedly made Jude Bellingham his number one transfer target.
Although any potential deal for the teenager is likely to be reached at the end of the season, the FA Cup holders are still open to adding reinforcements to the squad during the winter window.
“I think that in January, in our situation, we always say at this moment because it is true that from a sporting point of view we are always prepared,” Klopp said at a press conference on Friday (quoted by Metro).
“It is always clear what ideas we have, what is the need from our point of view, that is clear. But the rest is not one hundred percent in our hands, that’s right. We always work with what we have, that will not change.
“You can imagine, with the situation we’re in, we’re probably looking, if something happens, we’ll see.”

Liverpool need a big effort during the second half of the campaign for their season to be successful.
Klopp’s men are already 15 points behind league leaders Arsenal and out of the Carabao Cup after their loss to Manchester City last night.
A Champions League round of 16 tie with Real Madrid will take place between February and March, while the Reds face Wolves in the FA Cup third round on January 7.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager knows his team has work to do, but he is eager to take up the challenge.
“Obviously we left a gap between us and the much more exciting places in the table,” Klopp said.
“But we consider ourselves within one shot distance and that means we have to chase and that’s what we’ll do.”
Our Premier League campaign resumes on Boxing Day when we travel to Villa Park.
