Jose Enrique wants Liverpool to part ways with Naby Keita

Former Liverpool defender José Enrique has urged Liverpool to let Naby Keita out during the summer window. Great things were expected of Keita when he joined the Reds from RB Leipzig in 2018.

However, he has struggled with injuries since arriving at Anfield. Naby Keita has played 118 games (in all competitions) for the Reds so far, registering 11 goals and seven assists. The Guinea international has yet to appear in any Premier League matches for the Merseyside side this season.

His contract at Anfield will expire at the end of the current season. Talks on a new deal have made no progress in recent weeks. Naby Keita is expected to leave Liverpool next summer.

On his social media account, he wrote, “Will you let Keita go for free? I think it’s the best for us and for him too. The Italian league is also not as physically demanding as the Premier League and he will meet with Origi.

Divock Origi spent eight seasons at Anfield between 2014 and 2022. He made 175 appearances (in all competitions) during his time at Liverpool, registering 41 goals and 18 assists. Origi helped the Merseyside side win a Premier League title and a UEFA Champions League trophy, among other honours.

The Belgium international left Liverpool to join AC Milan on a deal with Bosman last summer. However, the move did not go as planned for him. The 27-year-old attacker has managed to score just one goal in 14 appearances for the Milan side so far.
