Allegri favors Fresneda for right-back, but Juventus struggle with price

As Juventus continue to search the market for a new right-back who can rotate with Juan Cuadrado, a host of potential candidates have emerged.

Some are experienced while others are young, but at the end of the day, it looks like the Bianconeri are determined to find the best possible deal in the January transfer session.

According to Ilbianconero, the youngster from Real Valladolid Iván Fresneda is Max Allegri’s favorite option on the list of finalists.

The 18-year-old spent time in the youth ranks of Real Madrid and Leganés before joining Valladolid in 2020.

This season, he has been one of the true revelations of LaLiga, since he joined his club’s senior squad and has already added six league games.

However, the source notes that Juventus would struggle to meet Valladolid’s high asking price, which could sabotage the Old Lady’s plans.

So while Fresneda remains a promising player for the future, a January transfer to Turin remains unlikely.

Juve FC says

Following his rapid rise onto the scene, a host of top clubs have been following the young right-back.

However, Juventus already has a host of youngsters among the first team, the Next Gen squad and Primavera.

So if we’re going to entrust the job to a youngster, then 20-year-old Tommaso Barbieri is worthy of the opportunity and it wouldn’t cost the club a penny.
