West Ham have been given green light to sign 49-goal striker

West Ham United reportedly appear to be in an increasingly strong position to snap up the transfer of Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

The Chile international has been excellent at championship level but has yet to prove himself in the Premier League, although interest in him has certainly not been lacking of late.

Now it looks like West Ham is moving into the stronger position to take Brereton Diaz to the top flight, according to Dean Jones.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones said: “I think West Ham is still in a pretty good position on this one by the time it comes time to move, but a lot of teams have prepared it this season, like a ridiculous number of teams.”

West Ham could do with strengthening up front this January after a slow start to summer signing Gianluca Scamacca, and it’s fair to say that Brereton Diaz looks ideally suited for that role.
