Marcus Rashford responds to rumours regarding a contract extension at Manchester United – Man United News And Transfer News

Marcus Rashford has responded to claims that he has been offered 400k a week to renew his contract at Manchester United.

Rashford responded to a post on his Twitter page to set the record straight.

“Can we please stop making up these stories?” Rashford wrote, in response to the wage claims, which have since been removed.

The striker then explained that both he and the club are fully focused on the pitch, for now.

“My and the club’s goals are hopefully to get into the Champions League this season.” he wrote.

Despite Rashford insisting he is not concentrating on a contract renewal, there are growing fears that he could be tempted to leave Old Trafford at the end of his contract in 2024.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaif publicly announced his interest in Rashford, stating that “every club would run after him” if he were available.

While it would be a surprise to see the Mancunian born and bred Rashford trade Manchester for Paris, any offer to join the star-studded team would look tempting.

Rashford’s form has been revived under new United boss Erik ten Hag this season, with the 25-year-old looking back on his prime after the previous difficult twelve months.

He also enjoyed an excellent World Cup, finishing as England’s joint top scorer in the tournament along with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka with three goals.

Erik ten Hag hopes that Rashford and the United hierarchy can agree an extension for a player he recently described as “one of the best in the world in his position”.
