How much has Paul Pogba cost Juventus coffers thus far

Last summer, Juventus fans rejoiced when Paul Pogba made his long-awaited return to Turin after spending six years at Manchester United.

But unfortunately for both parties, the situation turned sour soon after. It all started during the pre-season tour of the United States when the midfielder suffered a meniscus injury that has sidelined him ever since.

Hoping to make a quick recovery and join the French team before the World Cup, the 19-year-old initially avoided surgery and opted for alternative therapy, a decision that backfired spectacularly.

The midfielder ultimately underwent surgery and ended up missing Qatar 2022 and remains out of action with no clear indication on a potential return date.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Fabiana Della Valle, Pogba has already cost Juventus 5.24 million euros in wages, although he has yet to play a minute in an official match.

The 2018 World Cup winner is on a four-year deal with the Bianconeri that sees him take $10 million a year as take-home pay plus bonuses.

After Saturday’s victory against Arsenal in the friendly in London, Max Allegri urged journalists not to talk about Pogba’s situation, because it would be useless to talk about a return date for a player who is still unable to run in training.

Nonetheless, Della Valle suggests a February comeback as a logical possibility.
