British tennis star Andy Murray lashes out at journalist Piers Morgan on social media after Lionel Messi helped Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup trophy. Morgan is considered a close confidant of Lionel Messi’s rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Piers Morgan had previously stated that he considers Cristiano Ronaldo a ‘GOAT’ ahead of Lionel Messi. However, Messi settled the debate after leading Argentina to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

On his Twitter account, Morgan posted: “Not sure @FIFAWorldCup could have gone worse for you @piersmorgan.”

Morgan had predicted before the final that France would regain their world champion title, leaving Lionel Messi in tears. However, Messi proved his prediction wrong, helping Argentina to a 4-2 win on penalties after drawing 3-3 after extra time.
Lionel Messi enjoyed an excellent game, scoring a brace during the game and also converting his penalty in the shootout. The Paris Saint-Germain forward played seven games in Qatar, scoring seven goals and assisting three more. His performances earned him a Ballon d’Or, along with a Golden Boot.
Lionel Messi expressed his gratitude after helping Argentina’s World Cup team win the trophy after 36 years. Speaking to the media, he said: “It’s just incredible, I knew that God was going to give me the Cup, I was sure, it was a great joy for us.”
“I had this great dream for a long time, I wanted to close my career with the World Cup. I can’t ask for more than this.” The 34-year-old forward also helped the South American nation reach the 2014 FIFA World Cup final, but he couldn’t overcome the final hurdle against Germany.
