(Video) France score dramatic 118 minute equaliser as penalties loom in World Cup final

France drew against Argentina for the second time during Sunday afternoon’s World Cup final in Qatar.

Didier Deschamps’s Bleus have experienced a strange ending. Losing most of the game after Lionel Messi scored a first-half penalty before Ángel Di María doubled the South American’s lead, France’s World Cup dreams seemed all but over.

With just over 10 minutes to go, however, Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe appeared with a spectacular quick brace to set up an extra-time finish in the grandstand.

After 25 minutes of extra time, Messi scored from close range and you would have been forgiven for thinking he had just won his country its third World Cup.

Not to be, however, with Mbappé firing a desperately late penalty and completing his hat-trick after Argentina were legitimately deemed to have handled the ball inside their box.

What a final this has been and it seems that we still have penalties to come.
