Hugo Lloris Insists FIFA World Cup 2022 Final Is Not Just About Lionel Messi

France vs Argentina: France national soccer team goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has insisted that his 2022 FIFA World Cup final clash with Argentina is not just about Lionel Messi.

The France national soccer team and the Argentina national soccer team will go head-to-head in search of world glory in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday.

Argentina and France, who are the defending world champions, have won the FIFA World Cup title twice before. At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, both nations will be looking to win the coveted trophy for the third time.

Lionel Messi, who is one of the greatest footballers of all time, is looking to win the FIFA World Cup title for the first time in his trophy-filled career. Lionel Messi has been impressive and sensational for Argentina so far at Qatar 2022, and the 35-year-old will try to carry that form into the France vs Argentina final.

Speaking ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup final between France and Argentina, French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris insisted that the game is not just about Lionel Messi.

Hugo Lloris said that the 2022 FIFA World Cup final is too important a game to focus on one player, stressing that it is a match between two great nations.

“The event is too important to focus on one player. It is a final between two great nations”, said Hugo Lloris before the clash between France and Argentina.

“When you go up against this type of player (Messi), you have to pay attention to him, but this game is not just about him.”

Meanwhile, France will have to limit Lionel Messi’s influence in the final. Messi has already scored five goals for Argentina in Qatar 2022, and is a candidate to win the Golden Boot and Ballon d’Or.

The Argentina captain was also impressive in their semi-final win over Croatia. He scored his first goal of that game, converting a penalty, and made a beautiful assist for his third goal as they defeated Croatia 3-0.

Both Argentina and France have other players capable of making a difference on the grandest of stages, including Kylian Mbappe, who has been impressive for France at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
