Paul Pogba heads to Qatar to support the French team as they try to retain their World Cup crown against Argentina tomorrow.
France was without some of the players who helped them win Russia 2018, including the pivotal midfielder in that edition.
However, Didier Deschamps’s side have still reached the final, thanks in part to the good form of Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who is expected to start in the final.
A report on Tuttosport reveals that Pogba had been specially invited by French President Emmanuel Macron to be at the stadium for the match.
The report claims that his country’s leader invited the injured players to join him and watch the match, but Bayern Munich refused to allow Lucas Hernandez to make the trip as he too is recovering from injury.
Juve FC says
Pogba was devastated to miss the World Cup and the least we can do is allow him to go watch the final live in Qatar.
He is still recovering from injury and will not be of any use to us if we keep him in Turin.
We wish him the best, but we can’t pray for his nation to win because we have players in both countries.
