Inter Milan are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie. The Ivory Coast international joined the Blaugrana on a deal from AC Milan’s Bosman during the summer transfer window.
However, he struggled to establish himself in the Blaugrana starting eleven. The 25-year-old midfielder managed to start just two games in the league this term. He could look to move away from Camp Nou for regular playing time during the January window.
According to a report from Corriere Dello Sport (via Sportskeeda), Inter Milan are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie during the January window. Simone Inzaghi is looking to bolster his midfield after falling 11 points behind league leaders Napoli.
Franck Kessie is among his top targets given his past experience in Serie A. The Ivory Coast international has played for AC Milan and Atalanta in the past. He made 204 appearances in the Italian top division, recording 41 goals and 16 assists.

Kessie helped AC Milan win the Serie A title last season and was also part of the 2020-21 Serie A Team of the Season. She could revive her career after returning to Italy’s top division.
However, Barcelona could be reluctant to sell the 25-year-old midfielder. The blaugrana will not be able to sign in January due to the economic fair play rule. Xavi could look to retain him to provide depth in midfield.
Xavi explains Franck Kessie’s lack of playing time
While speaking to the media in October, Xavi explained why Frack Kessie had trouble establishing himself in the Blaugrana starting eleven.
He said: “Here it is Barça, so the competition is fierce. He is training very well, but he is being a great professional. I’m sure he’ll get his minutes throughout the season.”
Franck Kessie’s agent, George Atangana, has also revealed that his client is happy at Barcelona. He said: “He is very happy in Barcelona, ​​it was his biggest dream to join Barça. Franck is already adjusting to a new style of football, Barca and Xavi are happy with him. Kessié will not leave in January, the stories about AC Milan are false.”
