Arsenal are interested in signing Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian international is one of the most in-demand midfielders in Europe.
Milinkovic-Savic has been a star for the Eagles since joining from Genk in the 2015 summer transfer window. He has made 314 appearances (in all competitions) for the Seria A side so far, registering 63 goals. and 58 assists.
Milinkovic-Savic helped the Eagles win two Italian SuperCoppas and one Coppa Italia. He won the 2018-19 Serie A Midfielder of the Season award and was also included in the Serie A Team of the Season twice.
The 27-year-old midfielder is also a key member of the Serbian squad. He has represented his country 39 times since he debuted in 2017.
Arsenal consult Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
According to Metro, Arsenal are preparing to launch a bid to sign Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serie A side previously rejected a €47m offer from the Gunners. Lazio reportedly want a transfer fee of close to 100 million euros to sell their prized assets. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s contract with the Italian club will expire at the end of next season. Several clubs are looking to sign him at a lower price.
Milinkovic-Savic has been in spectacular form this season. The Serbian international has made 14 appearances in Serie A this season, registering three goals and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are reportedly in the transfer market to sign a new midfielder to partner Thomas Partey. Xherdan Xhaka has impressed in a more advanced position and Mikel Arteta wants him to take him to that position in future. Aside from the Gunners, Liverpool and Manchester United are other Premier League clubs that have shown interest in signing Milenkovic-Savic.
Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent months. The Belgium international is in the final year of his contract at the King Power Stadium and could leave the Foxes at a reduced price in January.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic compared to Kevin de Bruyne
Lazio captain Ciro Immobile compared Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Kevin de Bruyne earlier this season. He said: “Trust me, Sergej Milinković-Savić is magical. He is on the same level as Kevin de Bruyne ”.

The Serbian international will be an excellent addition to Arsenal’s midfield. However, Mikel Arteta will have to act faster to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
